Hi there! Thanks for your consideration to support my fundraising efforts for Back on My Feet!

12 of us crazy runners are taking on Hood to Coast, THE original relay covering 200 miles from the top of Mount Hood down to the beach of Portland August 26-27.

I will be kicking off our relay as the first leg runner, 5.5 miles that has 2,000 feet of descent; considered one of the tougher legs in the relay.

What am I doing to prepare? I have to get faster as a runner and I have to lose weight! Yes, 2017 is the year I get my life together...hahah. My goal is to lose at least 40 lbs, so feel free to hold me accountable and ask how it's going!

So your support means more than ever as I work to improve my health in honor of all our members that are working hard to transform their lives.

If you're new to my fundraising efforts, Back on My Feet combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources.

Our members will start running (or walking) to build confidence, self-esteem and discipline. We provide running shoes and gear to fit the season (spring running gear is handed out in April!), milestone incentives (running watch, hat, etc.) and encouragement. After 30 days with 90% attendance, members move into the Next Steps phase where we provide job skills training and financial literacy and other life skills. Members learn how to sit for an interview, prepare a resume, create a budget, build credit. Then we link members to interviews with job partners such as White Lodging (hotel) and BrightView (landscaping) so our members can get into employment and then ultimately housing.

We run 3 days a week at 5:45AM and with more than 75 volunteers running with our members, the community provided to everyone in our morning circle is incredible. Such a loving and caring environment that supports everyone without judgement.

A little goes a long way in BoMF:
$25 will provide spring running gear (shorts/shirt)
$50 will provide winter running gear (jacket/pants/hat/gloves)
$100 will provide a pair of running shoes
$250 will provide milestone incentives and socials
$500 will provide employment resources
$1000 will provide housing resources

My goal is to raise $2,000 for Back on My Feet. This money will 100% go to the program. I will be paying my own race and travel expenses, so you're not paying for me to go have fun :) If you've read this far, email me and I'll buy you a cup of coffee! It will be a push for me mentally and physically and I'll be thinking of our members every step of the way and will be grateful if you can join me in this adventure to advocate for changing lives.
