Thursday, April 28th
Location: The Yard, Herald Square (106 W 32nd St, New York, NY 10001)
Opener: Abby Washuta
2nd Act: Craig Fox
3rd Act: Greg Cartin
Headliner: Vince August
Headliner Vince August made his stand-up comedy debut at Carolines on Broadway in 1997 and has made a name for himself on camera in commercials, soap operas, and more recently as a regular actor on the wildly popular ABC-TV hidden camera series, “Primetime: What Would You Do?” and in a new dramatic series “Power” premiering on Starz in June 2014. Vince also donned a judicial robe and presided over court cases in suburban New Jersey through his career as a judge. The international news surrounding Vince’s dual careers caught fire in 2013 when the New Jersey Supreme Court gave Vince an ultimatum: choose between being his passion for the law as Judge and his passion for entertainment. Vince chose his entertainment passion, resigning from the bench, because in the end “you never give up on a dream.”
Craig Fox is stand-up comic who performs in the city regularly at Stand Up NY, LOL Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Dangerfields and is currently the booker and manager of the Village Lantern Comedy Club in the West Village. He is also an actor who has been featured in HBO’s the Leftovers and worked in regional theatres around the country. Craig holds an MFA from UC Irvine in California and is a full time faculty member at the New York Film Academy.
Greg is a New York City-based stand up comedian and improviser. He was born and raised on Long Island, a.k.a. Strong Island, a.k.a. Wrong Island, which explains part of his dementia. He spent over 10 years of his professional career in retail banking, enabling him to stew this dementia to perfection. Tired of his comedic timing not being fully appreciated in the boardroom, Greg left behind the bank to pursue comedy. He regularly performs at Carolines on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, and Broadway Comedy Club, and can also be found doing improv at the Peoples Improv Theatre. It probably isn’t important to note Greg is a fan of the entire Reese’s family of products. He is equally fond of the Entemann’s catalog as well. Then again, he is a supporter of Hostess too.
Abby Washuta is a stand-up comic and comedic actress based in New York City. She has performed at various clubs around the city including Stand-up NY, Eastville Comedy Club, and The Stand. Abby frequently tells people that she has opened for Jim Gaffigan because one time he showed up and did a set right after hers, so that counts, right? Her credits include being an extra in nothing you've ever seen and Youtube. www.abbythejunglegirl.wordpress.com
