I 26.2 for BoMF! I am running the Chicago marathon to raise money for Back on My Feet (BoMF) Chicago, a nonprofit organization that—literally and figuratively—helps individuals experiencing homelessness get back on their feet. Those that know me know how much I love Bomf. It has truly changed my life, broadened my thinking, expanded my friends and family, gave deeper meaning to my running, enhanced my life and inspired me in more ways than I can list.
Perhaps a better way to share my BoMF experience is by sharing what Kendra, a BoMF member, wrote after she ran her very first half marathon:
"Today has had gratifying moments but I first want to acknowledge Shayna for being my rock, strength, foundation for my success today, a woman who runs to find peace in my own heart, showed me what it means to do the same, a woman of her word who said she would never leave my side today and didn't, a woman who refused to see me fail . . . Thank you isn't enough but for now know that you are permanently etched in my heart... Thank you to all Back on My Feet."
I’ve pledged to raise funds for this worthwhile cause so that BoMF can continue to change lives both with the members and the volunteers. Please make a donation to help me meet my goal (it's tax-deductible) and help inspire others through running!
Thanks in advance for your generosity!
