Welcome to Dirck Byler's Page
Back on My Feet is a nonprofit organization that helps individuals experiencing homelessness. Since its launch in 2007, Back on My Feet has helped over 3,500 people find jobs and independent housing, and enter into education and training programs. And this number is growing as Back on My Feet’s work expands.
As a volunteer for Back on My Feet, I witness first hand the difference it makes in people's lives. Along with other volunteers we meet at 5:45am to run with folks who are trying to change their lives. Participants must commit to running 3 days a week. After 30 days of participation, Back on My Feet then offers job training, and housing support.
It is a great organization that proves there is hope, that individuals can achieve things they never thought possible, and that there are people who will support them along the way. Their unique running-based model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength, and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead and move toward jobs, homes, and new lives.
I'm running the Berlin marathon in September to raise awareness and money for Back on My Feet. Every cent you donate will go directly to Back on My Feet's work toward ending homelessness. I am covering all travel costs as an out-of-pocket expense.
Thanks for your help!
