FAQs - Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon

Where is the Race?

The race starts and finishes in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

When is the Race?

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon & 6K will take place on  November 12, 2017. Start time is 7:00 AM.

Other Race Information:

Runners must be able to run the first 10 miles on the GW Parkway in 150 minutes (15 minute/mile pace). The finish line will remain open for 4 hours after the 7:00 AM start time. Half marathon runners must be 13+ years old.

What is FundRacing?

FundRacing is a unique fundraising experience that not only guarantees your entry into the race, but helps you put more meaning behind your miles. In exchange for entry into the race, FundRacers commit to raising a set amount of money, which will directly support Back on My Feet and our mission to move more individuals toward self-sufficiency.

What is the Difference Between FundRacing and Fundraising?

Registering to FundRace entitles you to access to a race in exchange for committing to the designated FundRacing minimum. Fundraising is for individuals who have already, or would like to pay for their registration fee, but would still like to fundraise on behalf of Back on My Feet with no stipulated minimum.

How Much Will I Be Expected to Raise?

All Back on My Feet FundRacers are expected to raise a minimum of $250 for the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon. Throughout the FundRacing experience, you will receive fundraising tips and support from the Back on My Feet staff. Your success is our success, so rest-assured you won't be in this alone!

Sounds Great! How Do I Get Started?

Register yourself using the REGISTER tab on this page.  For as long as spots last, your completed registration form along with your $1 registration fee will reserve you a bib into the 2017 Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon.  After registering, you will receive an e-mail with instructions for setting up your personal FundRacing pages. You will then have until Monday, November 6 to meet your FundRacing minimum. We will be in touch throughout your FundRacing experience to offer support, answer questions, and keep you up to speed on all things BoMF!

What Happens If I Do Not/Am Not Able to Run the Race?

In exchange for race entry, we expect that you will uphold your commitment to raise the designated minimum, regardless of race participation. Runners who do not meet their FundRacing minimum by the November 6 deadline will be charged the remaining balance. If you are unable to complete the race due to injury, please contact the BoMF staff directly. While we cannot make any promises, we are able in some cases to "rollover" entry from one year to the next.

Where Does the Money Go? What Are My FundRacing Efforts Supporting?

Great question! All money raised through your FundRacing efforts will directly support Back on My Feet. Click here to learn more about our work and unique approach to combatting homelessness through running.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
By submitting this registration I agree to the terms of becoming a Back on My Feet FundRacer to include: I authorize Back on My Feet to charge my credit card $1 to reserve my place as a BoMF FundRacer and my entry to the 2016 Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon.  This $1 will be applied to my fundraising total. I agree to raise the minimum fundraising amount of $250 for a position as a FundRacer for the 2016 Woodrow Wilson Half Marathon event. I understand the fundraising minimum must be reflected on my personal online fundraising account by October 26, 2016.  I agree to provide Back on My Feet with a credit card valid through November 2016 (11/16). If I have not raised half of the fundraising minimum by August 1, 2016, I authorize Back on My Feet to charge my credit card the amount required to reach half the fundraising minimum. I also understand that my position as a Back on My Feet FundRacer is non-transferable. If at any time or for any reason I am unable to participate in the event, I will contact the event managers. Regardless of whether I can participate in the event, I am still responsible to raise the minimum amount. Registration and Donations are not refundable for any reason. I understand that failure to meet the fundraising minimum puts my future participation with Back on My Feet events in jeopardy.
